Can I get an article the library does not own?

Yes, fill out the Request this item through interlibrary loan form using your Mercy College email.
The library staff will send the request through DOCLINE to borrow an electronic copy of the article you requested from another library. A PDF or other instructions to retrieve the article will be sent to your Mercy College email address.
